- John founded The CBORD Group in 1975 at Cornell, growing it into the market leader in campus card, foodservice, and nutrition management systems serving more than 4,000 clients before selling the majority of his shares in 2004.
- He served as CBORD’s CEO and President until 2004 and as Chairman until its 2008 sale to a public company; the firm grew to more than 240 employees under his leadership.
- Prior to CBORD, John was a vice president in the money market division of Bankers Trust, and he also founded TYMAR Management Services, a currency arbitrage software provider.
- He was named Cornell’s 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year, served as a Cornell trustee from 2000-2008, and is active in literacy and education philanthropy in the Ithaca, NY area.
